Ive worked with parents and teens for over 30 years in Doylestown. I have a limited amount of space in my clinical practice at this time. I work with clients of all ages who are interested in understanding themselves and are vested in learning to be thoughtful about their actions and how their action affect their mental and physical health and how they affect those they love and hold dear. My clients struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, career changes, failure to launch, OCD, ADHD, and marital issues. Some of the clients I work with require more than once a week therapy and may need a wrap around program where I create a team with a coach, a psychiatrist, a learning skills coach, and a mentor.
Joyce Cooney and I work as a team in a new program we named "Coming Together Wholeheartedly". This program is inspired by Brent Brown's research on vulnerability and shame and is Gottman influenced based on the work of John and Julie Gottman. We work with couples, I see one member of the couple and Joyce sees the other in individual sessions. The 4 of us then come together every other week to approach challenging issues in the marriage where both individuals have the collective support of the two of us. We have found this approach to be very effective in bringing couples together to a new level of intimacy and closeness. The effect on children when parents are united and emotionally connected can be very powerful.
I am one of the owners of BHMS which is the marketing services organization for PS Psychiatry which opened in October of 2022. This has been a wonderful compliment to Welsh Therapy. Finding warm, personable psychiatric providers to collaborate with has been a goal of mine for many years.
